So the other day I got an email from a Mr. Joop, solicitor at law, who wants to transfer 12 million to my bank account because his former client Mr. Raelin has died in a plane crash in the Netherlands. Mr. Joop wanted ME, of all people, to act as next of kin, and receive the money, and split it with him 50-50. I did what anyone would do and had a little fun at the scammer’s expense. I emailed him back, told him that as long as it could be processed quickly, I would furnish him with whatever he needed: bank account number, social security number, cell phone, home phone, and even a polymer mould of my fingerprint! I also asked him if he could secure some of Mr. Raelin’s DNA in case I was tested for kinship. I told him a hair, nail clipping, or flake of skin would do.
Mr. Joop thanked me for my “KEEN INTEREST” (they always capitalize awkward statements), and gave me further instructions. Well, it was about that time that it was no longer funny and I realized I was wasting my time.
Then, I came across a video that I absolutely had to share with everyone:
I got a good laugh out of that one! Hope you did too. Now, MDW officially passed over the 100-page hump two days ago on the second of July, and on that day I was visiting my accountant to get the books all set up for the business. She was also advising me on forms of incorporation and the importance of saving my receipts. Anyway, it was on the way home that I saw something marvelous. It was a rainbow. The color was intense and it was obscured by the clouds in the middle so that you could only see either end. Luckily I had my camera, although the pictures don’t do it justice. The colors were much more vibrant in real life than on the pictures:
How ironic, I thought, that I would see a rainbow on the very same day I sold 100 pages. Call me superstitious, but a part of me believes theres always something more to bizarre coincidences. I don’t know what, I just think its “something”.
The story gets a little more interesting. As I drove down the highway, the rainbow faded away. When I got back home, however, a new rainbow had appeared in an entirely new location on the horizon. This rainbow was enormous, and arched across the entire sky. It was not as vibrant as the first one, but it was absolutely breathtaking. Here it is:
So TWO rainbows, one the most vibrant, and one the biggest, I had ever seen in my life, on the very day I sold the 100th page. Probably just a coincidence, but like I said before, a part of me will always think that there is “something more” to it. I don’t know how else to explain the feeling.
In other news, the site was down yesterday for administrative upgrades. Can’t really say too much else about it. Everything is fine and secure, and we are prepared to handle volumes of traffic. Our traffic is increasing every day. Our site is 94,000 for the week on Alexa and BIG things are on the way.
Finally, I would like to take a moment to wish freedom and independence to the people of the world on today, the fourth of July. I don’t want to get into a political rant about what freedom is, where you find it, or how it should be defined. I just want to wish it to everyone, whatever you think it is, however you define it, may you find freedom and independence. G
PS: It feels really good to hit the first milestone.
