So this new project I’ve been working on the past few weeks is called Entrecard and all you bloggers out there are going to love it.
Think of Entrecard as your business card 2.0. You create a digital business card, which can be anything you want (your logo, a cool image, anything), and you swap cards through a widget you place on your blog. So any of you readers out there could leave me your “Entrecards” and I could check out your sites from my Entrecard inbox, which is where your card goes when you leave it for me.
The cool thing about Entrecard is it can buy you advertising for free. See my Entrecard on the top right of my blog? You can buy that space for YOUR entrecard, using credits that you get for free every time you give and receive a card.
So, Entrecard is valuable to all you on two fronts. First, there are the networking advantages. Entrecard is an easy-going and comfortable way you can introduce yourself to fellow bloggers, simply by leaving your card. And because its only open to owners of blogs, the cards you receive are going to be from your most important readers, your most influential readers, your readers with a blog and audience of their own!
And then there are the free advertising benefits when you buy and sell ad space in Entrecard credits.
Finally, Entrecard can make you money, when you earn credits, those credits are good to buy real ad space on any blog in the network. So, you can sell them on eBay or Craigslist, or however you like.

Looks interesting! I think there is a little bug though — when I click on “Get One” using Firefox it seems to open up inside a tiny iframe instead of a new window.
It looks like a lot of fun, Graham. Will you partner this with the MDW? I’m thinking this could be the boost the MDW needs and something that can’t be duplicated without a lot of capital. Give tons of free credits to your existing page owners as a thank you for the seed money from MDW. Have them create the buzz again by trying it. By the same token, when people sign up for EntreCard, give them a promotional price for a MDW page.
Bottom line, it’s the same thing. You’re selling traffic.
Sounds cool. I’m gonna get one as soon as my blog opens up in the coming few weeks. I think Entrepreneur magazine would be interested in mentioning the entrecard as well if they pick up the interview…it gives off the impression of an ever expanding entrepreneur.

I actually think getting an add up on Alexa.com is still worth the investment once the site is revamped. It would’ve been perfect about a month ago though.

Well Mike, you’re right. Not enough exposure yet for entrecard. We’re in “soft launch” mode while we iron out the kinks, and then you’ll see it everywhere. We’re going to be going “under the radar” for the month of November, slowly building a userbase and making sure everything is just right, and then BAM.
Anyway, its totally new technology. There was nothing out there to model this after. An entire credit economy with an accounting system had to be build, and it wasn’t easy, nor is it quite perfect yet. But it will be.
Well… the Entrecard concept looks cool, but I have to wonder if you are committed to this project.
To be honest, with your commentary about the Buzz being Dead, noting that the Forum is littered with a large amount of Porn Spam, and well… it is beginning to take on the appearance of a blighted business district.
I’m not sure that you have enough time invested in this, really a few months, to be bailing on the investment we have all made… a considerable sum, collectively.
I would like to see your thoughts on the matter, and get an accurate sense of your intentions.
